Kate Schwikert Waidmann was diagnosed with appendix cancer in 2012. At the time she was a pilot living an active life in south Florida.
She endured two major surguries, chemotherapy and radiation during her battle while keeping a positive attitude and encouraging others in their fight against cancer.
Kate was passionate about life and loved spending time at the beach. She believed that the beach held healing powers. She would say that finding the cure for cancer was like finding that one special grain of sand on the beach....the more help, the better our chances.
Sadly, Kate passed away in November of 2014. She remained passionate about life and vocal about finding a cure and keeping the hope alive until the very end.
It is with that spirit that the Amber Ribbon was started. We too are passionate about life, finding a cure and bringing hope and encouraging to those fighting cancer. Help us keep Kate's legacy alive - every purchase leads to funds to help find the cure, one grain of sand at a time.
